Hi Pat--Thanks for commenting on my cellular shades article. In the past two days, having raised the shades about a foot on all the windows, the ice and water have dried up. We still have about 3/4 of the the total glass covered so must be saving SOME heat loss and cold radiation; we just now know we can't seal the place up! If you have AC, in your climate you would probably reap the insulation benefit in the summertime. We did find that the shades were helpful this past summer. I wouldn't write them off entirely--you now know the questions to ask :-)
